Yeah, I pretty much agree with "Bill"... the movie was romantic, but it still had touches of reality. The movie won an Academy Award for Best Original Song ("Falling Slowly")... I saw their acceptance speech and I felt bad for Marketa because she didn't have time to say her thank you's (Hansard took waaay too long to finish his). Anyway, after the commercial break, the producers allowed Marketa to have her "moment"... I thought that was sweet. Anyway, that's not the point of this post... it's their music, so, here are my faves: All the Way Down, Falling Slowly, If You Want Me, Lies, and When Your Mind's Made Up.

Monty Python's Spamalot is a comedic musical "lovingly ripped off from" the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975). Like the film, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian Legend, but it differs from the film in many ways, especially in its parodies of Broadway theatre. Eric Idle, a member of the Monty Python team, wrote the musical's book and lyrics, and collaborated with John Du Prez on the music. Running since March 17, 2005, it was directed by Mike Nichols and won three Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical of the 2004–2005 season.

Here's my Valentine's Day treat for everyone! :) I wanted to download this musical since like, forever! Hahaha! :D I just didn't have time to do it 'til now. Anyway, I think it's a cute musical, here's a short description:

The Last Five Years is a one act musical written by Jason Robert Brown and produced off-Broadway in March of 2002. It explores the five-year relationship between Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. The show uses an unorthodox form of storytelling, with Cathy traveling backwards in time (beginning the show at the end of the marriage) and Jamie traveling forwards (starting with their first date). The songs are presented as soliloquies, except for a wedding song in the middle, where the two characters share a duet. Sometimes, this show is performed in such a way that Jamie and Cathy only interact during their wedding.

The Next Ten Minutes, If I Didn't Believe In You, Nobody Needs To Know, and Goodbye Until Tomorrow are my favorites! :D

We saw RENT last summer here in Vegas... it was on tour to celebrate its 10th year anniversary. I wanted to post this because we saw Bryce (Roger, oi, close kami!) in New York during our recent trip... that was so random, but nevertheless, it was kinda exciting! He was with his beautiful wife "Snow White." Hahaha! :D Ok, yun lang. Here are my favorite songs from RENT ('di pa nga complete yan eh), some are from the OBC, yung iba from the movie, ok, Enjoy ulit! :D

Aaaah... Spring Awakening. What can I say? Hmm, well, it certainly didn't answer "THE" teenage question... hahaha, whatever it was! :D The songs were ok... but not as boom-boom-boom-boom as Avenue Q or Wicked. I liked the actors but none of them were cute enough to be my future husband. I like Jonathan Groff, BUT, he has curly hair... I don't like curly hair for guys. Anyway, the musical was kinda bitin too. It was 2 hours long pero kulang pa din... it lacked something---like, erm, character development. Some actors sang one song tapos wala na. Parang ok, I want to know what happened to them. Anyway, over-all, it was still fun... I mean, experience, cge na nga! :)

Anyway, I liked the ff songs... Enjoy!!! :D

10 The Mirror-Blue Night - Aaaah!!! This song reminds me of Groff's special dance number.
11 I Believe - I didn't notice this song at all... maybe because it was played during the "THE" scene!!!
14 Left Behind - This was the only song I was truly attached to after watching the musical. :D Groff's voice was very soothing, got kinda teary-eyed during this scene... love it!!!
19 The Song of Purple Summer - who doesn't like a finale?! Heh! :D
